About Me

Photography has always been one of my great loves.

I’ve been fascinated by photography for as long as I can remember. By the time I was 12, I had pretty much “borrowed” my dad’s Fujica AZ-1 camera for good. That was his own doing—he had shown me how shutter speed, aperture, and film speed worked together, and from that moment, I was hooked.

At 16, I placed sixth in a photography contest, and my work was displayed at the Kodak Pavilion in Epcot Center. After my junior year of high school, I spent the summer taking a darkroom photography class at a nearby Ohio University branch. Photography has been a lifelong passion ever since.

Back then, I never imagined I’d become a portrait photographer; it seemed so intimidating. But the more I learned, the more I fell in love with working with people and helping them capture and preserve their memories.

When I’m not behind the camera, you can usually find me painting, writing, or working at our art gallery, Art @ 43023, on Broadway in downtown Granville.

I’m based in the Newark/Granville area of Ohio and offer photography sessions throughout the region, including Zanesville and Columbus. Travel outside the area is also available, with minimal travel fees.
