How do I book a session?

You can view my upcoming availability and book directly through my Senior Booking Page. Or contact me through the website or at atchisonphoto@gmail.com. A signed contract and retainer will secure your date.

When should I book my senior portrait session?

It's best to book 2–3 months in advance, especially for peak seasons like summer and fall. This gives us time to plan your outfits and locations. If you are set on fall portraits you should definitely book early. There are only about 3 weeks of really great fall color - usually in middle to late October - and those sessions book up quickly.

Is an hour really long enough for a senior session?

Absolutely! You would be amazed what we can get done in an hour. We will go to two locations and take hundreds of shots. You will end up with a gallery of 70-80 images from which to choose. You get two outfits included in that package, but you can easily make it seem like more by bringing hats, scarves, jackets, or a prop to expand your looks. I’ll help you brainstorm before the session. But for seniors who want even more variety there are other session options as well. The Deluxe is my most popular session.

What if it rains?

I always have days off built into my calendar so that rain-outs can be rescheduled as soon as possible. If we are not able to find a date/time that works for you, I will refund your deposit. However, I have never actually had that happen. We always find a way.

Do you ever schedule sessions for the middle of the day? ?

I do sometimes, but to be honest, I’m always disappointed with the results. Bright overhead lighting is jarring in portraits. And even if it’s cloudy, the light is still coming from higher in the sky which creates unflattering shadows. 

So if it’s really really really really really the only option for you, we can try to work with that. But our choices of locations may be more limited. 

Can parents or friends come along?

Yes, definitely. Having someone there can help you feel relaxed and confident.

When will I see my photos?

Your online gallery will be ready within 3 - 4 days. After you make your selections, final edits will be delivered within another week.
